Fans of the original High T will probably get excited at the news of the “hardcore formulation” known as High T Black.
High T Black certainly sounds intense, but is the updated formula good enough to give High T Black an edge, or should you stick with the original High T (or a different testosterone booster)?
I looked closer at High T Black’s formula to find out.
How Does High T Black’s Formula Differ from Original High T?
Like its predecessor, High T Black includes a 900 mg proprietary blend with testosterone-boosting ingredients. This includes Testofen, a brand of the testosterone-raising herb fenugreek; eurycoma longifolia, which is used to increase libido and boost athletic performance; and rhodiola rosea, an energy enhancer.
While these ingredients have raised energy, libido, and other testosterone-related effects, it’s hard to say if they have a direct impact on testosterone levels. Most users found success with this blend, although some said it had little to no effect.
In addition to the testosterone-raising blend from the original High T, High T Black has some added perks:
Razberi-K Metabolic Enhancer (200 mg). Razberi-K is a brand featuring raspberry ketone. This component of raspberries has created excitement due to its appearance on a popular medical show. But, further studies are needed to prove it deserves its popularity.
In one rodent study, raspberry ketone prevented weight gain in mice on a high-fat diet, but there aren’t studies showing if it is effective in humans. [1]
Caffeine Anhydrous (200 mg). As any coffee drinker knows, caffeine provides an energy boost. In doses as low as 100 mg (about the amount in a cup of coffee), caffeine increases energy expenditure and thermogenic response. [2]
Caffeine may give you an extra boost to workout harder, but 200 mg probably won’t have a significant impact on weight loss or testosterone.
NO3X Nitric Oxide Booster (1800 mg). This blend contains 3 forms of arginine to boost nitric oxide flow to muscles, which enhances pump and vascularity.
Original High T contains arginine-alphaketoglutarate, a potent combination of arginine and the chemical alpha-ketoglutarate. However, High T Black also has two additional arginine forms: arginine-ketoisocaproate and arginine monohydrate.
Arginine-ketoisocaproate slightly increased leg press performance in a study, suggesting it could result in a small muscular boost. [3]
Consequently, High T Black might provide a slight bonus to energy and muscle growth during your workout. Unfortunately, there are no additional testosterone-raising ingredients not already found in High T.
What Do Customers Think about High T Black?
You’ll be interested to know that 56 customers on Amazon.com gave High T Black an average 3.5/5 star rating.
Those who liked High T Black noted it increased sex drive, energy, and muscle growth. PayneR said, “I tried the original High T and was liking the product but then these came out and decided to try them. My workouts have been way more intense and my strength has improved dramatically. Gives a nice boost of energy without wearing you down. Impressed!!”
Those who didn’t prefer High T Black said they saw little or no results. Andrew said, “I have been taking it for about 3 weeks. I have not noticed much of anything, workouts have been sluggish and sex drive is about the same.”
Some people did not like the smell or taste.
Does High T Black Cause Side Effects?
Some of the ingredients in High T Black come with side effect risk. Avoid taking in other sources of caffeine while using High T Black, as caffeine might cause jitteriness, nausea, increased heart rate, and other side effects.
Fenugreek and arginine might cause side effects such as diarrhea, stomach pain, bloating, and allergic reactions.
While most users didn’t mention side effects, a few reported allergic reactions.
Is High T Black a Good Value?
High T Black costs $57.99 on GNC.com and $35.88 on Amazon.com, about $10 more than High T.
It’s recommended you take High T Black for 8 weeks for full results, and one bottle only lasts a month. It’s cost-effective for a one-time use, but longer use could get expensive.
Is High T Black Better than High T?
If you’re looking for a better testosterone booster, High T Black won’t necessarily perform better than High T. But, if you think you would find the addition of pre-workout ingredients beneficial, High T Black might be a good buy for you.
