When the majority of us get ready in the morning, very few of us actually take the time to apply false eyelashes. Some of us assume that application of false eyelashes happens to be difficult. Actually, curling one’s lashes and applying coat after coat of mascara proves to be a far more arduous task. False eyelashes are a fantastic way to give your eyes a pick-me-up and an “oomph.”

When applying false eyelashes, the key toward comfort and looking your best and not too artificial is cutting lashes to fit your eyes. How one would achieve this is simply by grabbing the eyelashes, holding one up to the width of the eye, and the area that overlaps into the inner corner of your eye needs to be cut. You can also trim lashes to give them a more natural look. Once you have customized your lashes to preferred length and width, the second thing you do is bend them inward with the outer edge touching the inner edge and hold this position for 10 seconds.

The next step in this process is glue. Black or dark glue is preferred because it acts as more of a subtle top eyeliner and helps fill in any gaps between lash hairs. The amount of glue you use to apply lashes should be sparse. Squeeze out the most minimal amount of glue, like the size of the top of a pinhead, and disperse it evenly along the base of the lash with the nozzle of the glue bottle. Next you will wave the lash around to allow a portion of the glue to air dry. The actual application of lashes can be done with a set of tweezers or your fingertips. The preferred route of application is with tweezers, but some prefer using their fingers. However, the fingertips won’t allow you as much of a precise application toward the lash line. That takes more a seasoned wearer of false lashes. Once you have set lashes along the lash line, you must position the lashes slightly upward and wiggle them slightly on the tips of lashes until they rest properly against the lash line. With false eyelashes, practice applications make perfect.

Some recommended products:

Ardell Wild Lash Eyelashes are for a more glamorous look.

Ardell Invisiband Eyelashes are for those of you that want a more natural look.

Ardell Runway Lashes are great for a more intense look look or simply for evening wear.

Andrea Mod Lashes are for a more retro look.

Also, you can make big or small changes by adding individual lashes to your natural or artificial lashes. The recommended product in this case happens to be Ardell Duralash Natural Individual Eyelashes. The application of these particular lashes is a little more tricky and does requires some patience.

The best and least expensive glue given the quality on the market is Andrea Perma Lash Adhesive. Also, always buy dark glue. Clear doesn’t always dry clear and looks horrible when mixed with mascara, eyeshadow or eyeliner. Plus, the effectiveness mirrors that of Elmer’s Glue.

For a simple way to inoculate glamour into your look, false eyelashes are the answer. False eyelashes add depth, sensuality and dimension to eyes. False eyelashes can be used every day, not just for special occasions. False eyelashes can also be worn more than once if they are applied and removed properly. One set can last for up to seven wears, but three wears is far more realistic.
